Engagement rings – Say it with a diamond
Rings have been worn by man for centuries. Gemstone rings have been worn for their mesmerizing beauty symbol, as a symbol of power, of social status, as birthstones, for the power that they bestow on their wearer.
Diamond Engagement Rings are special. They are something ever girl awaits for her entire life. It is a beautiful band of eternity that suggests that wearer is engaged to be married.
One of the earliest records of engagement ring comes from the year 1477 when Archduke Maxmilian of Austria presented Mary of Burgundy with a diamond engagement ring. It is said that Mary married him within 24 hours and that started a tradition that has now become a vital part of many cultures.
There could never be a better, more classic, more romantic stone for an engagement ring than the brilliant diamond. Diamonds have fascinated men for ages. However, until the discovery of Diamond mines in Brazil, South Africa in early eighteenth century, diamonds were a luxury of only the aristocracies.
Why only engagement ring?
One often wonders why it is only a ring that one wears for engagement or wedding. Well, it is because a circle or the ring is symbolic of continuity, eternity, unity, peace, for it has no beginning and it has no end.
Engagement rings come in wide range of variety. Here is a description of some of the most popular ones-
Solitaire rings – Diamond solitaire rings are the most classic way to propose a girl. It will surely make any girl again fall in love with you. There are many shapes that one could choose for the solitaire rings, but nothing can beat the grandeur of a round brilliant cut or a princess cut diamond rings.
Diamond flower ring – Now you don’t have to choose between saying it with flowers or saying it with diamonds. This ring says it all.
Three stone rings – Three stone rings have recently become very popular as engagement rings. Each stone in this ring is reflective of a couple’s past, present and future together. Given their simple design these rings are loved by one and all.

MELISSA & BRENT GET MARRIED!!
Viva had so much fun working with Melissa & Brent this past year planning their October 9th 2010 wedding at the NAC. Melissa was a coordinators dream! Always keeping us in the loop, it was a sad week at Viva la wedding when an email from this fabulous bride didn't appear in our inbox. And the constant communication paid off. The end result was an absolutely flawless wedding day for this amazing couple. Here are a few images of the newlyweds captured by Ron of RZ Photo. Viva had never had the pleasure of working with Ron before and can happily say we're looking forward to collaborating on many more weddings in the future. Congratulations Melissa & Brent!!

PIE POPS! MMM, MMM GOOD!!
In the past Viva's blogged about wedding cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, and even cake shooters so we thought it was only fair to give pie a little love too. And what better way to do it than with these pie pops. Fill them with your favorite jelly or pureed fruit, seal the edges, then brush them with a little egg white before baking for that golden flaky texture. Mmm, mmm good!
Whether you display them with other tasty sweets on the dessert table at your wedding or wrap them up as favors for your guests to take home at the end of the night, they'll be hard to resist.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
For a little inspiration this Thanksgiving weekend Viva turns to the one and only Style Me Pretty. This is just a sneak peek of the fabulous Fall shoot recently posted on SMP's blog. To see the rest of the images and read all about the details click here.
